Born on 6 March 1989, Clement grew up in Lajkovac,
Pozega, and Uzice, small towns in western Serbia. His parents were both
artists. His father Milan (1957-2008) was a conceptual artist, working mostly
on kinetic sculptures and automatic paintings, and his mother Biljana (1964) is
an award-winning author, poet, and journalist. From an early age, Clement was
interested in performing, singing, and acting in front of friends and family. In
2000-2001 he enrolled in an acting school of National Theater of Uzice. After
finishing school he stayed in Theater for 4 more years, acting usually in plays
for children. This decision was made because of the financial situation of the
family; inability to go to Belgrade and study High School of Dramatic Art,
instead, Clement attended the High School of Art in Uzice, and finished the
sculpture department. Along the way, he found himself in visual art, and in 2008
decided to continue education in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in
Trebinje. On Academy is where he found performance and video art, and even
after being awarded as the best student in the painting department he mostly
works with his body, trying to combine the knowledge he collected in Theater
and visual art. Most important, and first independent performance work named
"Second skin" was created in 2011 and it was the turning point after
which nothing stayed the same. Until 2016 he was exploring identity in his
work, his own limitations, aesthetics, trying to be introspective but at the
same time universal. In 2015 he started with the existential phase and stayed
dedicated to the human experience in the contemporary world to this day. Additional
to this Clement has had the collage practice for more than 10 years and it is part
of many private collections over the world, exclusively represented in Limited
by Saatchi (limited edition of prints) and Artig Gallery in Spain. He is also
the author of 4 poetry books.
